Enjoyed a wonderful summer solstice day (southern hemisphere)... mowed a great maze in the 1.5 metre-tall grass for the kids...  had a swim in the neighbour's pool (they're on vacation... sshhh!)... had our EcoFaith friends over for a full moon solstice party. Very very fun, and a great celebration including a sun mandala/tapate, wreaths made from kiwi fruit vines.  Sang some songs including my daughters' songs:

Jess (6):

The Sun is the sky

And its shining bright

The sun is flashing like a light

I can touch the sun

It is a sunflower

The sun is in the sky

And its shining bright.

Evie (3):

Frangipanni bright

Today is a sunny day

I am really happy,

Mummy's making sunshine cookies!

What a great way to spend a summer solstice.

Tried to get my weekday Habitat volunteer Saints to dance naked around a bonfire for our Winter Solstice...they laughed a lot about that...but we were all admiring the same full moon...enjoy!!! Carl

Jeez, Carl, bit cold for naked dancing in New England, isn't it?  Maybe for your summer solstice....

(Or should I say something amount "admiring" a different full moon if you'd had your way?)

It may be officially winter in the northwest, but we've got four little fuschia pink primroses putting a brave face on the day. We may be little but we;re blooming brightly.
