How did you come to discover Creation Spirituality?
I used to wander through new age books stores and books would jump out at me, telling me to buy them. Sins of the Spirit Blessings of the Flesh yelled at me, and jump started my spiritual journey into higher gear.

Interesting webpage, Tom.  What is your life's focus viz. gays ? Have you a partner ?

Just jesting in a soft humor, but are pagans ok ? Yeah, I live in Colorado.

I fell asleep early evening New Year's Eve, then woke at 2 minutes after midnight,

and just for interests sake googled Julian the Apostate - That holy pagan !

I'm cool with re-incarnation. Whom might he have become ?

I forget the name of the facilitator but we did a very short puppy pile, combined with trance dancing practice first. She died shortly after that.

There was little discussion about agreements other than Matthew's story about the connection between sexuality and spirituality and how shocked he was to discover that the students were fucking like rabbits back in the hotels after attending UCS during the day!

I am aware that there have been some dicey situations during dancing and that Michael once took 2 pairs of shoes and placed them in different positions and challenged us to define which position was dance and which was sex. But all of this was with street clothing on so...

Tom, I have been following the discussion on the Queer Community. I am a student of sacred sexuality. I am gathering written documents about safety guidelines for sacred sexuality gatherings. Were there any guidelines or agreements made at your gathering around safer sex? Since sexual trauma is so common in our sex-negative culture it seems prudent to consider that sexual wounding may result in some dicey situations.

I know that I saw an agreement for sacred sexuality that included something to the nature of "I acknowledge that while I am attending a sacred sexuality event that I may or may not have sex with another individual." I believe the idea was that payment to attend the event did not imply a guarantee or right to have sex! This is important because sacred sexuality does call to individuals with deep sexual wounding. Most of the dicey situations that I know of revolve around the distorted thinking that "I have a right to take what I desire." or "I am so weak/powerful that I cannot resist what I desire."

And I like that The Body Sacred uses the term "Safer sex" in their written statement of principles and agreements.. Really, as principle #6 states, we risk when we sex. "That is why sex can kill you...The more one is plunged into the ocean of Spirit the more one dies to one's smaller self, dies to one's ego, and finds instead one's own original face,
one's own Godhead, one's own True Nature..." (Ken Wilber in the preface to "Transcendent Sex"). I acknowledge that we can't really make rules or police policies about sacred sexuality, because sex can kill you.

Facilitators who get too caught up in the safety issues of individuals at events need to remind themselves and others that what may look like a psychological breakdown may actually be a psychological or spiritual breakthrough. Each individual has the right and responsibility to take that risk for themselves. But do we have a responsibility to say that intentionally as a group?

Salutation Tom - thank you for the welcome. My apologies for only getting back to you now - I was in a self imposed "exile" from the Internet for a week or two. I do hope I add to the richness in discussion, exchange and mutual enriching through the CSC. Till again, warm regards, faarooqm
