theme 12 being emptied: letting go of the pain

Posted on December 12, 2011 at 1:38pm 0 Comments

I am learning first hand a bout being emptied these days and I find it very interesting that pain that is emptying me is considered "wrong' or "sin" or "poor judgement" on my part.  At first it created a real embarrassment for me till I looked to my Buddhist friends who remind me pain and suffering are part of life.    I am learning to accept the emptying as preparation for better things.  Fox calls this letting pain be pain and becoming big hearted.    Learning  to embrace pain  versus…

Theme 11: Emptying: letting go of images and letting silence be silence

Posted on October 31, 2011 at 7:38am 3 Comments

So Deep, So Intense, and so strange to move from the positive to the negative.

I find myself drawn to the idea that we are to infatuated with light and that we have tried to find ways to eliminate the darkness, to explain it away instead of embracing it. Yet Fox makes a great point in the fact that we were created in the dark.  The idea out chaos comes creativity but for me the struggle is how to grow n not shrink in the dark.   It is shedding the fear that we are so indoctrinated in.…

theme 9: Holiness as cosmic hospitality

Posted on October 24, 2011 at 4:08am 5 Comments

Note: School, work and family has dominated my time recently but with recent changes I am now trying to take my personal time back and here is the return of what I hope is the continuous study of Orignial Blessings

What then is holiness?  Traditionally it has meant being perfect or completely whole, as I was taught as a youngster, the idea of doing no wrong.  I found myself put up against a mark I could not attain (especially in my strict baptist tradition).  But I…

Theme 8: Realized Eschatology

Posted on September 20, 2010 at 4:22am 0 Comments

This theme is subtitled as a new sense of time and I can't help but think truly we are moving into a new sense of time in the world. currently as a grad student I have noticed the real struggle this brings as two "times". I see the two times as roughly being the modern and postmodern and at least in the marriage and family therapy field we are see a reaction of trying to build theories based on thoughts from both times.
For now we live in a world between worlds I believe. A world that…

Thanks for the cyber-handshake, Tim.
I like the sound of the Cosmos group. I just led a presentation in Boulder on a healing connection with the cosmos ( The CrossRoads retreat I mentioned went well and we are looking at Aug 5-8, 2010 in Colorado as well as doing one in Louisiana.
Keep spreading the Good News of Creation!

Hey Tim,
Ahh, the Cosmic Christ. A breath of fresh air and another spiral down into the Christ Mystery for me. After reading Original Blessing 24 years ago, I'm finally bringing it to a retreat for men, "CrossRoads in the Wilderness: Reconnecting Men, God, and Earth" (see Youtube presentation of same name). It is all about learning to befriend each other, Spirit, and Creation, in some ways about letting go, yet in some ways about grabbing on with all the blood, sweat and tears that might entail.
Blessings, Todd

Hi Tim - I left you a comment on the video on which you commented about an upcoming education program... hopefully a couple of weeks until we can begin rolling it out....

I kind of have a church within a church. My Sunday worship services are fairly traditional, although I often bring into my sermons many of the ideas of Creation Spirituality. On Tuesday evenings however I have a group called, "Spiritwind" (from about 20-40 participants) and we often do series on Creation Spirituality. Great to have you join us! Original blessings to you!

Hi Tim. Welcome! Hope you can find this place to be a good one for you. IS Coming of the COsmic Christ your first, or only encounter with Creation Spirituality?
