Profile Information

How did you come to discover Creation Spirituality?
I began taking courses with Matthew Fox in 1994 and graduated with my Doctor of Ministry in 2006 from the University of Creation Spirituality. My intention in pursuing this work was to integrate it into the work I do as a healthcare administrator but the richness of the teachings and the passions of fellow students fostered many other creative endeavors including developing Creation Spirituality Communities, Inc. and “One River” a CS community in Colorado where I reside.

I’ll expand on my profile a bit as this website is my home and where I direct others to learn about CS and my work which also includes serving as a spiritual director.

My work-life:
A family and individual therapist for a decade followed by a decade as an administrator/executive director of psychiatric treatment programs, I now work as a consultant through my business: Wholehearted Inc., Support for Mind, Body and Spiritual Wellness. I support my husband’s WholeBody Psychiatry practice, am a founding partner of the Eating Recovery Center in Denver, CO and I work with a few people providing Spiritual Direction in the Denver/Boulder region.

My Passions:
A marriage of Buddhism and Creation Spirituality/Western Mystical Christianity in real life with my Buddhist husband – the rubber hits the road in practicing spirituality in relationship! The creative process – from art making to business making, allowing new images and healing opportunities to emerge (the via creativa). I have recently gotten a passion for art-quilting and appreciate the time lost to piecing fabric together. I also get pleasure from time with family and friends (two-legged or four-legged) just hanging out and being silly.

I really appreciate everyone’s presence on CS.info. It is great to feel a part of the web and to see/hear what folks are doing/thinking/being around the globe. I have a strong feeling about the need for CS communities… interfaith gatherings that deepen our connections to one another and the planet; places of creativity that offer peace and transformation.

Hi Susan~

Fascinating to know that you are in the Boulder area doing the Creation Spirituality work. You will be taking the Cosmic Mass classes as well? I am looking forward to learning more.

Blessings~

I graduated 2001 in June.  The world has changed a lot since then.  One of the worries we had as students was how we would do our work in the world knowing what we had learned at UCS.  We didn't know that we would really be called to use our knowledge because our world would soon slide toward the darkness.

Hi Susan:

Thank you for the response in January. Someone from CSC was attempting to reach me but my computer was hacked and is currently down. My contact for the time being is lmcilrath@lhsouthbury.org I am Chaplain to the Lutheran Home in Southbury, CT. I attempted to make contact Re: the up-'n-coming retreat in MA (North of Boston) but the message apparently did not get through. I have some questions and would appreciate you getting me in touch w/ the right person. I am reading Mathew's books and am truly inspired by the message as being from the Lord.

Blessings,

Leo McIlrath

Thank you for your comment.

Actually, I will be in Boulder on Friday, Jan 13 from 10 am to 11 am at

Vic's Coffee House on North Broadway, (near Breadworks).  I have an

exhibition of seven paintings and I am there during this time to meet

anyone who is interested in talking to me about my work.  So.....

if you have nothing to do...stop by and say hi!

Or, if you want to have coffee sometime, I drive into Boulder all the time.

Have a great new year!

I appreciate the fine welcome into this beautiful community.  Because I am retired and live on a set income each month, there never will be any extra money available to enjoy the great programs offered.  So sorry.

Thanks Susan ~ I am looking forward to attending at least one of the retreats ~ Are there events on a weekly basis?  I am especially interested in working with labyrinths, as I want to incorporate this into a weaving workshop ~ Thanks again

Thanks, Susan!  I first heard about Matthew Fox, through "Living the Questions", which I did with my family at their church a few years ago, and have been a fan of his writings ever since. Must get around to reading "Original Blessing" and "The Coming of the Cosmic Christ" sometime. He's a very proflic writer.
