Excellent observation, Tom. That's an enlightening point. Thanks so much.

Hi Ruel, Thanks for the stimulating post. I would question, is the morphic resonance of the past becoming faint, or has our ability to sense it weakened, just as we have lost our ability to sense the spirit world, and we have lost our ability for ...

Thanks Jacqui. I've transcended the Negativa through the Creativa of poetry. Your "hugs, warmth and wordless comfort" make my Via Transformativa truly challenging.

Thanks Derek. The "seed of hope at the end" pushes me to the Via Transformativa.

Thanks George. I've travelled the road from Positiva to Negativa which has been transcended by the Creativa in this poem. Your friendship makes my Via Transformativa delightful and challenging.

Yes, Marian, thanks so much for the invitation. I'm truly delighted to take up the challenge and contribute significantly to the Spring 2010 issue of the GreenSpirit Journal. Let's keep in touch.

Ruel, this is a fascinating topic. I would be very interested, not only in the pre-colonial theology of your culture but whether - and how - its roots might still supply spiritual nutrients for Filipinos who, like yourself, have embraced 'green' s...

Hi Bruce! I'm delighted to know that we are fellow travellers. Yes, I'm quite sure that indiginized theologizing very much applies on Aboriginal spirituality in Canada and elsewhere. In Paulo Coelho's latest novel, The Witch of Portobello, he puts...

THE EARTH IS ALIVE

The Earth is alive . . . yet.

The Earth is alive and yet she is in a very serious condition.

The Earth is alive, yet she is likewise dying.

The Earth is dying and unless we do something imminent at this point in time, we shall surely perish with her.

This is the most pressing and present reality we face in the 21st century. Unless we reverse this tragic flow of events, we are heading toward disaster.

A foreboding atmosphere of impending devastation dominates the landscape for we have gradua… Continue

The Challenge of Indiginized Theologizing

Can I not find a way to draw inspiration in theologizing from my experience of spirituality ( in my case, as a Filipino) sans elements of Christianity? Perhaps the better question is, Isn't it really feasible to talk of a spirituality outside of the trappings of Christian presuppositions and influences? Well, of course, I'd like to believe that Christianity genuinely deeply inspires lives—no question about that. But isn't it more worth considering if it is still possible to hear—even in its fain… Continue

A Review of Angela Blardony Ureta’s A PILGRIM'S DIARY, PASSAGES AND INNER LANDSCAPES

A Pilgrim’s Diary, Passages and Inner Landscapes mirrors the highly evolved soul of its author, Angela Blardony Ureta. The language, which at times is magical and at others philosophical, is generally spiritual in its obviously effortless fluency and spontaneity expressive of a synthesis: the honed experience of a journalist and the fantastic talent of a born litterateur. The wide ranging appeal of this small volume carries the reader right to the light-hearted person of the author… Continue

The Artist as a Philosopher (or the Philosopher as an Artist) before the Canvas of Nothing

What is so philosophical--deeply philosophical--about the artist but her/his enormous capability to be excited/elated/exhilarated by the challenges of the Nothing. S/he looks at the blank canvas before her/him not as nothing but as a space of unlimited possibilities--a Nothing, a not-yet, a Becoming--that belongs to the future. The present Nothing promises a future Being--Nothing Becoming Being.

And all depends on a creativity that is purely human--a creativity that merges with a sense of the f… Continue
