How did you come to discover Creation Spirituality?
In 1988 to my complete surprise, still a mystery to me, a casual acquaintance sent me ORIGINAL BLESSING by Matthew Fox. The guy was a college friend of my husband's, stopping by our Indiana home with his family from D.C.On the basis of a brief discussion in which I mentioned "spirituality," he sent the book that his car pool buddy had been discussing. It was a time when I really needed to crack open some long-stored stuff from childhood. On pages 142-147 I discovered that in pain we can find stored energy, blessings, compassion, only if we embrace the stuff and carry it to a place called compassion. Compost is my image; transport the garbage to a productive place, but Matt used firewood; we pick it up and embrace it before we get the energy from it. It took ten more years for me to find a CS community when Matt went to speak in Lexington in '98. Than came several years community to the dynamic Louisville group from Indy, and in a few months I registered for a D. Min. at UCS, completing it in 04. The richness of Creation Spirituality has permeated and transformed every cell and every prayer since. Dancing GRATITUDE is the only fitting response! You know a Monarch caterpillar dissolves to a soupy liquid in the chrysalis--then flies!

Thank you for the post. I hope you enjoyed Brooklyn while you were here. Even with all the madness it has a small town vibe that keeps me sane!

Hi Rosie... Greetings - to you joyous person you! I am working on the details of the event and will get them up on the website real soon. I love the idea of children at the event... maybe you can spearhead a conversation and coordination of that!

Also there are others in this community interested in Buddhism... I suspect ther may be a comunity that starts for more focused conversation.

Blessings to you!
Susan
