It is my view that "Deliver us from evil" is a way of isolating evil, so that it has no power. Evil cannot be destroyed by more acts of evil. War in self defence is one thing. Acts of war that kills innocent women and children in an attempt to des...

"Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil" This phrase from the Our Father gives us some guidance in how to respond to war. Most nations are tempted to respond to evil with more evil in their attack. In nations that are warlike to the...

Hi Matt, we just had our 2nd "WE ARE THE EARTH RITUAL" Here in Montreal. It an interfaith ritual to honor the earth. We celebrate its Beauty acknowledge its Pain. We Dance, Chant and Pray. We gather in a circle and create a sacred space in the cen...

Peter, I am a sacramental person, in that it heightens our consciousness of what is taking place, and therefore, the Spirit shares her divinity with us. Creation spirituality language. Orthodox language. A Sacrament is an outward sign instituted b...

Antonio, your are right realistically we all live in the now. However, I think the past and the future have an important role to play in the decisions we make in the present. Then again, my temperment has a preference for combining past, present a...

Hi guys, the problem with living in the now, it usually implies that I will do whatever works,in the short term. Not always the best choice. Authenticity is a category that doesn't apply to living in the now.

Hi Judy, I like the way you analyze words and expressions to provide a deeper level of understanding. I believe that the statement by John that "Jesus came to save the whole world" to be true. If this does not fit well with fundies they would have...

Jacqui, you are aware of the evil in the world and refuse to dwell on it. By doing so, you allow your pollyanna voice to express beauty and joy. " Joy is the sign of the presence of God within you," Teillard de Chardin.

Hey George and Matt, one of my greatest joys is when my wife yells out " SUPPERS READY". My wife says her joy is when I prepare cafe style suppers for the two of us on our deck Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, weather permitting.

I think you are on to something Jacqui. Teillard de Chardin talked about something called the "Noosphere", where global consciousness can effect human behaviour.

A little controversary

A little controversary goes a long way. Jesus critized the status quo. I think Creation Spirituality needs some criticism as well.

I am convinced that the Institutional presence in our social constructs is here to stay. Matthew Fox when I asked him about the religious institional presence in the Catholic Church he said that he hoped they would disappear.

Another person I know hoped that The Catholic Church would disappear in another twenty years.

I am a firm believer that my breakthroughs in… Continue

HI Peter,

Thanks for the message. I agree that sometimes you can amplify even small sounds and they get noticed. Good for you that you sought and found justice for your wife. One of the suggestions is that people go in couples to the White House to speak to Mr. Obama, and when denied, sit-in. They will, of course, be arrested. Another couple shows up tomorrow, and does the same. And then another. And another. I don't know if that would awaken him or not...

Thank you, Peter, for your warm welcome! I am excited to be part of this amazing community. You are very active here. Good for you. I am still getting accustomed to internet networking. I know it is very powerful, so I'm forcing myself to learn how to do it. Recently started a blog. Having fun!

I have three books on my website.

Perhaps you would first comment on the presentation of the site itself?

Hi Peter, it was an enjoyable interation with the different viewpoint of several people. I did find that interest declined when it was not on Oprah anymore, I have since stopped the discussion group. For me the book was one of the most powerful books I have ever read, I came across it quite a while before it was Oprah book choice and read if three to four times. Kept getting new insights from it. I have given several away and now don't have a copy myself. Must buy another one as I think it is one of those books that you can pick up and find a gem of wisdom each time but the best lesson that came out of the most powerful for me was to be the OBSERVER of my ego.

Hi Peter, I seem to ahve had an old note from you just meet me, which I am a bit confused about. Are you saying you are a Spiritualist? Or are you asking me as if I am? The latter is not how I would clasify myself and seems to be a mis-reading of my original blog. If you read it again, you wil see that I am someone with friends who are and have noticed how some of my other freineds seem to be have problems with this and so I was asking how open CSC people are. What sort of experiences were you asking about any way? Are you implying you would not accept someone unless they had an experience that you approved of, or I have I now got the wrong end of your message now?

Hi Peter. I have done a number of things to integrate CS themes and understandings into my Episcopal liturgy, including teaching the Aramaic Lord's Prayer with the breathing exercises and music used by Neil Douglas-Klotz, and while I often find that people seem to enjoy the short term teachings, they really don't want to change their way of thinking. Creating a school in Second Life is just one more way to find a way for the community to gather and participate together, teach what we know, and bring new members into the fold who are out there looking.

Hi there. Thank you for looking at my work and for your kind comments! I enjoyed your blog entry. Thought provoking. I agree with you institutions are here to stay. Humans need structure to thrive, we need something to push against to grow.
