Well... I also think, war is so irrelevant and destructive. But human beings have always fought against each other, even during biblical times. It is something to do with the animal instinct for survival :)

I think we begin by being peace, as Thich Nhat Hanh says. Then by linking with other peacemakers, of which there are many. A valuable organisation in England, by the way, is greenspirit.org (they have a link here in Creation Spirituality), of which…

Agreed, Mel, war is never the answer. As my wife says, "War is killing people" period. My guiding light in this matter is a man named Abdul Ghaffar Khan, also known as Badshah Khan, who was an associate of Gandhi's. During the long struggle with the…

There is probably as much you need to un-learn as you need to learn...spirituality/mysticism has been burned out of our cultures for centuries...watch, listen, don't be afraid to let go...the cosmos is waiting to welcome you...we used to call it Him/God...I am most comfortable addressing the Mystery as it is...I may know it by many names, but it knows my name...tell me more about you....Carl

Hi Mel,
You are right.
I have also been wondering ''why war?'' it is so unnecessary. But it has always been the same, even during biblical times. I think it is something to do with animal instinct for survival, because the whole worls is a jungle .... :)

Hi Mel from England. I too am here to learn--and share what I can. Bury St Edmunds is a good place--lived in Diss for a while and then Portsmouth and then for a long time in Dorking Surrey before returning to the US.
