How did you come to discover Creation Spirituality?
It started with seeing the movie The Secret Life of Bees. I googled "Black Madonna" and got one of Matthew Fox's articles.
I am 52 years old, amicably divorced, and have two beautiful grown daughters. I live in the Minneapolis area. Until the beginning of July I was a dental hygienist but am currently on a medical leave of absence (more on that in a minute).
I am a cradle Catholic and have often said that despite my respectful disagreements with the Church, I am Catholic the way I am of German ancestry and have green eyes. It's an intrinsic part of who I am and I doubt it can ever really be changed--but I like to think it could be supplemented.
In the beginning of 2008 I began taking steps to become a Benedictine sister. I had my heart set on entering St. Scholastica's in Duluth but last December I was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease. So ended that dream--and thus the leave of absence.
I'm trying to figure out what to do with the rest of my life.

I've been a member for less than a year. "Original blessings" is the book that is most often considered the primer I think. I believe the very first Fox book that I read that had my head spinning was, "The Coming of the Cosmic Christ."
Hi Kris,
Welcome to our special and growing community! I loved the "Secret Life of Bees". That was my first exposure to the Black Madonna as well. Looking forward to getting to know you!
