Like the image. What a lovely thought. It's a bit of a twist on the imagery coming out on the tv in ads for the upcoming movie 2012...Rather than real destruction, transformation, transition to the truth deep within. Thanks for sharing.
Peace, Helen
Matt-
Thanks for the reply. And no..don't stop...what's a little revealing of self among friends at CSC? ;) My problem with what's funny is that the titles don't come readily to mind and there seem to be so many that tickle me. I did enjoy the two…
Stella-I appreciate your contribution and I think this statement states a truth very succinctly:"I decided long ago, labels don't mean anything. Making a big deal out of labels, is a waste of time and doesn't really create a positive atmosphere."

Well said George!! I am right there with you both. I heard Karen Armstrong on "Fresh Air" today. Plenty of what she said speaks to this particular issue I think. Here's the link to the interview:

Gordon--thanks for the communication. I think I understand what you mean. My own frustration with and depression about life circumstances, does at times. color my perspective and influences how constructively I do, or dont, communicate about that wh…
Thank you Timothy for starting this discussion and sharing more of your story. Serendipitously I am reading a book, and daily email meditations that, in my mind, blend well with the heart of this discussion.

Wow I must be living under a rock, but hadn't heard of this situation before reading your blogpost, Bill. Thanks for putting it out for people to read and think about here at CSC. I will now educate myself a bit about Semenya's story.

How did you come to discover Creation Spirituality?
That is not an easy question to answer. I came in contact with Matthew Fox's ideas/theology years ago, at a couple of different points, but never read any of his books in their entirety. His theology has, I think, been mine in many ways for many years. However it wasn't until very recently after my Priest(St. Matthew/San Mateo Episcopal Church in Auburn, WA) brought his name up again. I started reading Creation Spirituality but have most recently really prefered listening to books so I found his recording, "Radical Prayer" and listening to it has sealed the deal for me. I don't understand why this Creation Spirituality is considered so radical. It makes perfect sense to me.
Hurray! Just like that the Seattle community has doubled in size. Maybe we can start a trend! Looking forward to getting to know you and other members of this wonderful group. Thanks!
Hi Helen,
I have several dear, dear friends and we hardly ever are spacially together, but it feels like deep friendship is beyond time and space. So, if I think of community as not just squeezing into the pre-set box/pew/salon, but as a meeting of hearts(compassion), I can see that it's not so much about fitting in as is ... entering! Mary Ellen Latela
Helen, I believe that "not fitting in" is a very positive quality, shared by Jesus, the Buddha, the Dalai Lama and many "regular" folks. Along with any personal angst is the growing understanding that cookie-cutter people are not more suitable. I do not apologize for who I am, for my quirkiness. I am just amazed that I am back again in the midwest - I'm a Connecticut native. Peace! Mary Ellen Latela
Hi Helen,
Of course you can borrow my description! I am actually working on a better and more thorough description which I will post on my blog and of course here on CSC. Thanks also for the welcome!

Welcome, Helen; it is good to have you here. I see that you're in Auburn, WA, where my mother was born (1905) and where she grew up. I know it well. My wife and I moved from our home in Seattle and moved to Sapporo, Japan in late March 2008.
I hope to hear your voice more, too, and get to know your thinking. Slowly building a community here as well.
Welcome, Helen. I'm glad you've found us and joined in. There are a lot of resources here for listening and watching, too, which you may find interesting.
In the sense that Matt Fox uses "radical," CS is radical precisely because it makes perfect sense to you. "Radical" means "root" (hence: radish, for example), so even though common use of the word means "out there, strange...," it really ought to mean "grounded, deep, sustaining..."
I hope you'll enjoy being part of this unfolding community.
