About the site / FAQ

Who owns this website?
Creation Spirituality Communities, Inc. (CSC) Click here for our mission/vision statements.

Who or what is Ning?
Ning is an Internet service that provides flexible web spaces in a social networking model. CSC had an earlier website which was much less interactive (not by desire), and we shifted to this Ning model in order to enable more ease-of-use. It is reasonably customizable, but not entriely so; Ning is always developing new ideas, and we implement some of these as they come online, as they fit our purpose. We pay Ning about $40 per month in order to keep the site advertisement-free.

Who are the administrators of the website?
Presently the site is adminsitered by Matt Henry, of the CSC Board. Additionally, Diane Wolverton has full administrator privileges, and various moderator privileges are held by Susan Coppage Evans, Tracey E. Longacre, Rick Kuykendall, Mary Plaster, Nicole Porcaro, and Michel Gadoury. The profile named "CSC Website Admin" is not actively used, and exists to represent CSC's owensrship of the site, as opposed to any individual.

What information can the administrators see about me and my activity on the site?
The only information that administrators can see that others cannot is your email address. The reason for this is that your email address, not your name, is the identifying piece of data for each user. We include members of the website on the general CSC email list, which functions separately from the website.

What does it mean when some content (blog/video etc.) is "Featured"?
Content that is featured is done so in a very limited way, when it is something that CSC chooses to have front and center, in relation to its mission and vision.

What censoring / editing of content is done?
Almost neverdone. We occasionally have members sign up who then post advertising content, or inappropriate (e.g. pornographic) material; in these cases, we delete the material, and wait to hear from the "member." If the material is re-posted, we delete it again and ban the member. If we delete something you believe is not inappropriate, please do contact us. In the first six months of this site, we had to do this less than 5 times.

It is our expectation that if content is posted that other members believe does not belong here, that those conversations and challenges are made directly to the member. It is not only possible, but reasonably likely that such a diverse membership will occasionally create things that other members will disagree with. Whilst we welcome diversity, we will not welcome abuse, so please do report anything of that nature.

What happens if I leave the site?
If you "leave" the site, by removing yourself as a member, any content you create will disappear with you.

What's the difference between a Blog, a Discussion and a Comment Wall?
Comment Walls accumulate responses chronologocally, whilst Discussions are better designed for "threaded" replies, where replies will appear in a below-and-indented format, such that a reply-to-a-reply will be discernible from a reply to the main discussion. Blogs have only Comment Walls for responses, in which case they simply accumulate in order of posting, and Blogs appear on the member's page in a series, whereas Discussions do not show up in a series on the page of the member who creates them. Each has its strengths and weaknesses.

Is the content archived?
No. However, whilst content is posted, it is possible than any individual on the website can copy content that you have posted.
