I was guided to this group by dearest Sharon Rosenveldt, who says that Rick Kuykendall is AMAZING. Thank you for creating and sharing this space.

Mary, Thanks for being there. What I plan to do is write a little each week about what I am presenting at Spiritwind--which as I said below April will be on the tarot. We are just finishing up a series on Sufism. And next Tuesday evening we are going to be drumming! So as I put things up feel free to comment or ask questions. Original blessings to you...

So Rick, Are you going to post documents about the topics you named on the calendar? That sounds really great, what a wonderful idea. I really enjoy your dissertation and books like Liturgy of the Earth.

Wendy, I guess I should have responded to your question first... How do we form community without form? That is the challenge of "postmodern" spirituality. This site is one way. I am a minister of First Congregational Church of Auburn, CA. This is a traditional church (though very liberal) and definitely has form. In fact it is form bound with a church council, officers, boards, and committees. But Spiritwind has none of the above. There is no membership. People just come as spiritual adventurers. We are just people on a common journey. And now with this site we don't even have to live near each other. Blessings to you...

My doctoral dissertation at the University of Creation Spirituality was entitled, "Tarot Meditations: A Reflection Informed by Creation Spirituality". In April at Spiritwind we will be studying the tarot. We will look at its history, its Christian background and even demonstrate how "readings" are done.

Here is a question:
One of the characteristics of many spirited people is their free spirit, and the abundant insight into spirit everywhere, especially in nature.
How do we form community when there is such resistance to anything organized?
I have called our church "disorganized religion at its best" (quoting Diana Butler Bass?) But still, we have structure, space etc.
So--how do we form community without form?
(the spirit blows where it will....)
