Presently, I am in good standing with Rome! However I disagree with the Roman hierarchy in the way it teaches( or lacks in teaching). My biggest concern is the lack of Priests and the refusal to ordain women and married men or women priests. I just learned that they are returning to the ancient Pentecost vigil, the practice that was discontinued sometime during the 7th century. I have read "The Pope's War by Matthew Fox and I am convince he for the major part is absolutely right as are many theologians he sites.

Hi! My name is Jody Walker and I'm interested in becoming a member of your on-line group. I was born and raised in the Roman Catholic Faith and although I've moved beyond the structural confines of the male dominated hierarchy, I'm still a member of the Ursuline Associates and often work with the CCD students on Sundays teaching music. I taught 3rd grade at a Catholic elementary school for 10 years where I worked with an outstanding faculty (Composed of Catholics and non Catholics). Teaching Dogma was far less important than teaching spiritual growth. We had Muslim and Jewish students as well as Catholics and Protestants. We had a Mass once a week and the children helped with planning, as well as with the readings, petitions and songs and we didn't always have to be "Liturgically Correct" so I felt quite at home.
