Creation Spirituality Communities

Helen Shultz-Kamadulski

People and Activities that represent Creation Spirituality without naming it such.

Since joining this community a few days ago I've been thinking about people and happenings I've heard of that are creative especially in the sense of encouraging all of us to join in and be creative and celebrate creation. I thought it might be fun and energizing to take note of these people, groups and events as a way of reminding ourselves of all the creativity celebrating biophilia that is happening in our world.

Here are a couple of my offerings. And if these offerings are old new to you Creation Spirituality there's certainly no harm in repeating good news.

Sir Ken Robinson writes and speaks on the subject of creativity and an education reform similar in several aspects to what Matthew Fox advocates.

Playing for change is a a website where you can learn about and hear song productions that are produced using singers/musicians from all over the world playing where they live

Here's a link to one of the songs: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Us-TVg40ExM"Stand By Me" an oldie but goodie that lifts my spirits each time I view/listen to the video.

"You are beautiful"- a message being spread throught the creation and spread of public art integrating that message into the creation.

Thriving too: "Welcome to the new Thriving Too community blog which aims shamelessly to prove the case for optimism by revealing the explosion in positive human thoughts, creations and actions from around the world."

Do other CSC members have people or groups or happenings that they've come across to add?

Some very interesting things here, Helen. I find it very encouraging whenever I stumble across another new, renewing,, creative and compassionate group or organization. The only one I am familiar with on your list is "playing for change". Thank you for starting this conversation, and contributing the list. I'll look at my Bookmarks & see what I have that I can add.

Thanks George. I guess I'm seeing it as a little "counting our blessings" activity in terms of the viapositiva out in our world. I look forward to what you can add.

Here are some I've run across in the past few months.

http://www.drewdellinger.org. Drew Dellinger is a poet who has worked with Matthew Fox. I like and admire his point of view, his activism, and his poetry.

http://makeartlikeyoucare.blogspot.com. My kind of place; I really like this.

http://www.jubileeroad.org. Some very creative ideas.

http://www.joannamacy.net. Wonderful website. Joanna Macy is a scholar and teacher of Buddhism. Fits right into the Creation Spirituality perspective.

Oh man, Matt, is that ever true! I think what this asks of us is focus. (I won't say how many years it took me to figure that out.) :-)

I'm so glad people are enjoying some of these links. I go to YOUTUBE and play that "Stand By Me Video when I'm needing a boost.

I do watch and listen to the news somewhat and get so tired of the sensationalizing of all the bad stuff. It seems we could all do with more reporting of the stuff people are doing to make a positive difference. And if you adhere at all to a belief in "the law of attraction" then it only makes sense that the more we focus on the negative the more we get of it. This in no way means that I think injustices should not be named and addressed, but how often do we hear about all the constructive things people are doing to make things better?

Ok--just stepped off my soapbox. Thanks for reading.
