I joined CSC today and thought this would be the perfect place to seek out recommendations of members favorite books by Matthew Fox.
I've read parts of "Creation Spirituality" and have "Creativity" and "Many Rivers, One Well" checked out form the library currently. His work that finally got me down the road to here(CSC) is his CD "Radical Prayer"m which I've almost finished listening to, and will probably listen to again. I'm finding that hearing Matthew's voice has really helped solidify my connection to the CS principals.
Any thoughts as to some book recommendations? I've heard "Original Blessing" mentioned by a number of people and am wondering if this might be a good book to go with.
I really like Many Rivers, One Well, which confirmed for me many of the ideas I've carried around with me for a long time. I also like his Original Blessing, which corrects Augustine's malignant doctrines of Original Sin and Total Depravity. The New Reformation is also a fine book.
Helen,
Welcome!
My two favorite books by Matthew are Passion For Creation (The Earth-Honoring Spirituality of Meister Eckhart), and A Spirituality Named Compassion. All of his books are wonderful but I found that Passion For Creation resonated with my soul the most. Meister Eckhart was and continues to be a breath of fresh air! The book, A Spirituality Named Compassion speaks its name.
Have a beautiful day and enjoy reading!
